Nice!

I would love that! At the moment I’m a Media Design student and I would use the cards to create traffic to my online portfolio site, which will be online later this week! The timing is perfect!

Hello Bart!

My Name is Cara aka Phoenix and I am getting started as a DJ. I would use the cards to give to potential clients. Of course my really cool logo of my DJ moniker, Phoenix, would catch their eye and seduce them into visiting my blog (where I post playlist for everyones listening pleasure : ) My first gig is the end of the month at an Art Show, so wish me luck!

Thanks,
I looove your site!

Doing design as a student is a bitch, and that’s why you want to spread the word with more than mouth to mouth, which is hard with all the companies and freelancers out there stealing all the spotlight.

One of these cards given to the right person at the right time can make a huge difference for a student, both financially and job vice. That’s why business cards helps, working as a megaphone with your propaganda recorded, self-playing whenever a possible client reads it.

Who wouldn’t want that?

This would be amazing as I am trying to get my freelance business started so I can stop commuting 1.5 hrs each way to work. Which in turn will give me more time to spend with my wife and kids! My full site will be up in the next couple of weeks.

I’m a first year graphic design student and have just put my first portfolio site online (using Textpattern). This is off topic but I do want to re-design already heh. Anyway!

I hope to freelance over the summer break to a) support myself and b) help develop my skills a designer (particularly on the web) because my passion for actually bringing design to life is starting to outweigh my love for print. These cards would be great for me, as I could slip them into small business owners hands when I drop in to their shops and test my elevator speech :)

Hi,
I’m just starting my freelancer business in germany and I’d love to have business cards. Also my kids would like to draw on them or to cut them with scissors, until they’re only snippets ;-)

Hi Bart,

I’m starting freelancing with the above website.

Although I do create my graphics, I don’t have the possibility to print professional business cards.

This would mean a lot to my start, so I had my say :D

Cheers folks!

Heyy Bart,
Obviously I’d like to win the business cards so I can use them for my freelance programming during my studies. At the moment I’m studying Computer Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and it would be great to have some cards to spread the name here in Italy…
It can be very important to give these to the right person on some moment..

Hi, I love this offer!

I have just finished building/releasing a football (soccer) blog network and rely completely on people registering to become writers…Although if I had the time I would happily write for all 20 clubs myslef!

Having some cards to hand out would be a great blessing as it means people can take something away from any conversations I have about the network…and hopefully have a browse around it when they get home.

Plus, I was given a business card holder as a gift and would love to finally be able to use it!!

Sweet beans!

I’d probably use them as simple, “Nice to meet you cards” with basic info on my website, and other profiles. I’ve wanted to make something like that for a while.

It’s really interesting to learn what everyone would use the cards for, and what you are all doing. I don’t really know so much about who’s visiting my site, and this is a great way to find out more about you. So thanks for the replies so far, and keep them coming :).

Ruth: lol, that’s an interesting way to increase the amount of cards you can hand-out :).

Jules: Hey, how are you, and how is Milaan so far? Hope you’re enjoying yourself!

Like many others, it seems, I’m looking to promote a (future) online presence with cards. I’m in the midst of rewriting my site and up until recently I thought that business cards wouldn’t do anything for my goals, but I have since reconsidered. :)

Actually, I ended up here while looking through the blog article on hongkiat.com – that’s got to be fate, right?

thanks for the offer.. goodluck to everyone. i will help my small samba group drum up some gigs with the cards. we drum with the hands and we will hand the cards personally. cards will be raw, back to the roots. it is purely by word of mouth usually. there are not enough funds sometimes between getting the instruments and rounding up a bunch of people who love to play the music on the street.

for cards, been thinking of a rubber cut at first just to stamp it onto anything.. and that becomes the card, whatever the surface.. bus tickets, serviettes, the palm…. but then since there is an offer, wow, i’d like to take a chance. each card will become a unique swatch of the group and the person handing it. a personal invite. a piece of a large graffiti wall if you put them all together. who knows maybe one day we can call up everyone who holds a card and have a gig piecing them all together to put up the wall! :)

Hi Bart Jan, I stumbled upon your site (trough this place http://www.graphic-exchange.com/05web.htm), and I must say that I love your style. It’s really one of a kind.

I’m off to read some more of your entries, but I just couldn’t resist jumping into this contest.

I am a completely self taught animator, and graduated illustrator struggling to get by, and by some sort of Bizzaro world freakish incomprehensible fashion I have actually been nominated for some awards! I have proper ceremonies to attend (getting something other than jeans and a t-shirt for such a thing is anOTHER mission) and don’t have anything to give out! Business cards would be awesome!! :-)

What a nice offer! I’m an amateur photographer and some cards would really come in handy when I’m out-n-about shooting and someone wants to see more of my work. The cards would have the link to my website, which I’m currently developing, and contact info. It would be a good way to spread the word and get some business.

I would draw a star on the cards and throw them at passerby, like a ninja…

I kid, I do have a stack of old cards with outdated information and would love to get new ones printed to match the upcoming identity for my website. I’m a subscriber who happens to not have checked my reader for weeks, this is a pleasant surprise! Thanks!

I would design a business card; one side with my name and email, the other with a directional arrow. This way if I every found myself lost in a labyrinth with nothing but these cards I could trace my steps. Essentially I would be using these cards for survival purposes.

I’m a graphic design student graduating in the spring. I’m taking the senior portfolio class right now and one of the assignments is creating a business package for ourselves. The thought of having them actually printed and not just mocked up for an assignment has infused excitement back into the creative process.

I’ve been asked for a business card before when doing a small freelance gig and was embarrassed that I didn’t have one.

Great site, love the Worn installments.

Hi Bart-Jan,

I’d love to get the business cards, as I’m running a start-up new media marketing firm (since August), and we’ve been needing business cards recently. In fact, I’ve been shopping for prices/quality/etc in the past couple weeks. Our finances aren’t great at the moment, and this would really help us out!
